Autumn de Forest Presents An Original Piece For Kristen Bell’s This Party Saves Lives

On Thursday, October 16, This Bar Saves Lives – a company that makes gourmet bars with natural, gluten-free, non-GMO, fair-trade ingredients and provides food to a child in need with each purchase – hosted its first ‘This Party Saves Lives’ event on World Food Day at the beautiful Carondelet House in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by This Bar Saves Lives’ co-founders Kristen Bell, Ryan Devlin, Todd Grinnell and Ravi Patel. Sean Hayes, Kunal Nayar, Adam Scott, Sarah Hyland, Nia Vardalos, Kate Flannery, Willie Garson, Kenny Lattimore, Nestor Serrano, Rebeka Montoya, Brant Daugherty and Mahaley Hessam were amongst the stars who came out to do their part to end world hunger.

Upon entering the party, guests carried a box of Plumpy Nut food aid and placed it on the Plumpy Nut Wall, helping to create a beautiful “We Eat Together” mural painted by street artist Jules Muck. Each guest in attendance at the party directly helped to save the life of a beautiful child in need as This Bar Saves Lives donated a box of food aid in everyone’s honor. Guests enjoyed custom cocktails curated by DAMA Tequila and Paleta Potables and sipped on Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from John Salley’s The Vegan Vine Wines. LA eatery Bacaro LA treated guests to gourmet cuisine. Partygoers enjoyed three different delicious varieties of This Dessert Saves Lives prepared by Bacaro LA which each incorporated one of This Bar Saves Lives’ bars into the tasty sweet treat.

Celebrity chef Kelly Boyer of Paleta, treated guests to her healthy and delicious cold pressed organic juices and Magic Milkshakes. Guests enjoyed gourmet coffee from Keurig and stayed hydrated with AQUAhydrate water. Love Swirls treated guests to vanilla, raspberry and pina colada cotton candy. Partygoers participated in This Letter Saves Lives where they wrote letters to heroes on the ground all over the world who deliver food aid to children in need. Guests took fun photos with Fun Captured Photo-booth emblazoned with This Bar Saves’ Lives motto of “Buy a Bar. Feed A Child. We Eat Together.”

This Bar Saves Lives’ co-founders Ryan Devlin, Todd Grinnell and Ravi Patel shared a message of impact and inspiration with everyone before Kristen Bell and her husband Dax Shepard co-hosted the live auction. Kristen and Dax had everyone laughing and cheering while they bid on priceless and one-of-a-kind experience packages and items to support This Bar Saves Lives’ mission of delivering food aid around the world to children in need. Live auction packages included a special dinner party at LA eatery Bacaro LA, behind the scenes access to Bruno Mars’ sound check and tickets to his concert in Las Vegas this weekend, green room passes and show tickets to “Real Time with Bill Maher” and a shopping spree from Thrive Market and a private tour of the Tesla factory complete with a test drive of one of their high performance luxury automobiles and a basket of Tesla gear. Guests also bid on an incredibly delicious authentic Tuscan dinner party for eight guests from Tuscan wedding planner Monica Balli and her team of chefs and gelato makers, which also included a Keurig coffee machine and coffee and six bottles of The Vegan Vine Wine. The live auction ended with child prodigy artist Autumn de Forest joining Kristen and Dax onstage to auction off her beautiful “Universe of Love” piece. Autumn said she was inspired to paint her incredible piece because “We are all here to love one another and to help our fellow human beings.”   The 12-year-old child prodigy artist impressed the crowd with her charm, poise and incredible artistic talent. Autumn also generously donated a custom piece she created especially for the occasion entitled “Humanity” which will hang in the This Bar Saves Lives’ corporate office.

Eight-year-old twin child prodigy pianists and entertainers Elias and Zion Phoenix, from “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” performed beautiful concerto piano pieces and sweetly sang “I Can See Clearly Now” by Jimmy Cliff. Elias and Zion also sang Pharrell Williams’ hit “Happy” complete with a custom This Party Saves Lives rap which had everyone dancing and singing along. Elias and Zion invited “American Idol” finalist and recording artist Elliott Yamin to join them for soulful renditions of Stevie Wonder classics “I Wish” and “Superstition.” Elliott, Elias and Zion brought the funk and delivered a super-star performance. DJ Kid Fish kept the dance-floor packed with classic party hits.

Guests took home fabulous Vine Street Market, USA eco-chic gift bags filled with fabulous gifts from This Bar Saves Lives, Thrive Market, Paleta, Ojai Valley Inn, Bombas, Amrita Singh, and Project 7. Creative Artists Agency and the CAA Foundation were generous supporters of the event.

The founders of This Bar Saves Lives started the company after witnessing extreme childhood hunger while traveling in Liberia and being struck by the preventable nature of the problem. They committed to creating a product that was something that they know consumers would love and would help save previous lives. Their gourmet bars are made with all natural, gluten free, non-GMO, fair trade ingredients from the best farms around (we’re talking wild blueberries from Maine, bee-friendly almonds from California, and organic honey from Wisconsin. Tasty, balanced, and made with care right here in America). And, to sweeten the deal, for each bar sold, a life-saving packet of food is delivered to a child in need. Twitter: @thisbar

The Vegan Vine Wines, co-owned by former NBA star and TV host John Salley, are grown and produced by Clos LaChance Winery, a family-owned operation located in the Northern Central Coast of California. Clos LaChance is proud to be Certified Sustainable by the California Sustainable Winegrower’s Alliance. The Vegan Vine was developed when a family member had some questions regarding the use of animal products in winemaking . He was curious if Clos LaChance’s wines were suitable for his animal-free lifestyle. After meeting with the production team, it was determined that we could make a line of Vegan wines that were high quality—and educate Vegans in the process. The Vegan Vine Wines are made entirely without any animal products. Animal products can be utilized as fining or filtration aids in the wine making process. They assist by removing solids. Although typically filtered out of the wine prior to bottling, the use of these animal ingredients can make many wines unsuitable for vegans. Vegan Vine instead uses a clay-based alternative to filter and fine the wines. Twitter: @VeganVineWine

Live Auction Donors:

At age 12, Autumn de Forest is truly referred to as an artist prodigy. With her works selling for tens of thousands of dollars, Autumn has taken the fine art world by storm. She has been featured on the Discovery Channel, interviewed on NBC’s Today Show, and after numerous prominent projects with Disney, including Disney Princesses and its “Citizen Kid” interactive series, Disney had this to say about the artist “Autumn de Forest is one of the most important Artists of her generation.”

If these accomplishments were not enough, Autumn was also profiled on CNN in their “Power Of She” series, in addition to appearances on The Wendy Williams Show, PBS, Inside Edition, ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC News.   American Girl Magazine, Scholastic News, Time Magazine for Kids, and the Huffington Post are just a few of the publications that have written extensive features on Autumn as well.

Autumn de Forest is a world-renowned prodigy, who has, at the age of 12, sold over $3 Million in art. This is not a fluke, as Autumn comes from long lineage of fine artists. Lockwood de Forest, an American painter within the Hudson School and brother of Robert W. de Forest, president of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, stand as the beginnings of an artistic legacy that spans the history of American visual arts. George de Forest Brush, a painter lauded for his portrayals of Native Americans in the later 19th century West, belongs to the de Forest descent that traverses centuries of artistic evolution, from plein-air to the beginnings of modernism. Roy de Forest, an American Abstract Expressionist painter continues this genealogy, creating vibrant abstract works that incorporated different mediums and a developing artistic ethos inspired by social movements in 1960’s California.

Autumn de Forest’s newest works are a continuation of both her lineage and her artistic evolution and expertly display the influences of both her ancestors as well as the greatest Artists throughout time.   Autumn’s celebrated and highly collected artworks speak to both her ancestry and her place in modernity, and her gift at such a young age is an inheritance of a genealogy that can be traced back to centuries of a gift for visually representing the American landscape.

Ms. De Forest has an impressive resume of giving back; and has created an original artwork for this event.  The proceeds of this donation by Autumn de Forest will directly help to save the lives of children in need, which is the cornerstone of Autumn’s extensive history of philanthropy through her artistic gift. Autumn de Forest donates art to help hungry children.

Autumn de Forest is again using art to help others in need. The Park West Gallery artist is donating an original work of art created specifically for tonight’s This Party Saves Lives fundraiser organized by This Bar Saves Lives – a group aimed at eradicating childhood hunger around the world. The host is award-winning actress and philanthropist Kristen Bell – one of the organization’s advisors. (Bell is also a metro Detroit native.)

Autumn will present her artwork, which will be auctioned during the event held at the Carondelet House in Los Angeles. The proceeds will aid in relief for the nearly two billion people affected by nutrition issues worldwide.

Autumn’s commitment to philanthropy is something she shares with Park West Gallery’s founder and CEO Albert Scaglione and his wife Mitsie. Above, Albert and Autumn address a group of VIP collectors at a private event on a cruise to Alaska.
